 Incorporated in 1919, Waldwick is an approximate 2 square mile community in Northwest Bergen County, surrounded by Allendale, Saddle River, Ho-Ho-Kus, Ridgewood, Midland Park, and Wyckoff. With a population of about 10,000, Waldwick is a very pleasant, town with lots of character and charm. The community features many fine stores and fabulous restaurants that are within walking distance. Transportation is not a problem in Waldwick-In the center of town is the Waldwick station - a glass shelter and a park-and-ride facility on the Bergen County Line (NJ Transit) that connects Hoboken to Port Jervis, New York. Midtown Manhattan is approximately 25 miles away.
Waldwick has four neighborhood parks with playgrounds and recreational activities for everyone: Borough Park, Emmet Park, Ted Bell Park, and Veterans Park. Borough Park, the largest of the four parks, offers fishing, walking trails, picnicking, and ice-skating on White's Pond during winter.
Waldwick's school system emphasizes individual attention and a comprehensive curriculum. It is composed of two elementary schools (Julia A. Traphagan Elementary School and Crescent School) and the Waldwick Junior/Senior High School.
